Respect, privacy and mutual consent are central to how we’re designing ActivBuds. These principles guide the build; the public member service is not yet live.
Mutual agreement comes first.
Ordinary messaging is designed to require mutual accepted consent. Anyone should be able to end a connection. Premium features must never override blocking or consent.
Location needs permission.
Discovery is designed around coarse distance bands. Exact-location sharing is planned to be optional, time-limited and revocable. This website does not request your location.
Safeguards before growth.
Blocking, reporting and account deletion are foundational requirements. Moderation operations and evidence policies still need approval before a public beta.
When meeting someone new
- Start in a public place and tell someone you trust about your plans.
- Arrange your own transport and keep personal information private until you are comfortable.
- Choose an activity that suits your ability and use appropriate equipment.
- Trust your judgement. You can change your mind and leave.
